If you are planning a trip to Sedona this summer you may want to look into booking a trip on the Verde Canyon Railroad! The four hour trip will show you some of the most spectacular areas of the Verde Valley! You might feel like you’ve traveled back in time when you visit their quaint train station and board the historic trains! During the summer they have some special events including a wine tasting trip and a tequila tasting trip!

Hi…..I really don’t like to comment negatively about anything in the Sedona area since we visit there annually and thoroughly enjoy being there, but when I saw the ad for the Verde Canyon Railroad, I thought I should describe our experience on it. We and four other adult friends took the train ride three years ago. We purchased the first class tickets because of the buffet and the thought that it probably would be quieter in that section of the train. The scenery is good……we did see eagles and other wildlife. But the ride did get rather tedious after the trip up the canyon…….coming back the same way offered nothing new to see. As a lover of the Red Rock Cafe, I would say the food on the train is not close to the quality of that served in the Cafe! And unfortunately, our first class car was far from “first class” in our minds. All in all it was an interesting, but long day. Would we do it again…..probably not. If the trip could be half the length it was, it would be much better. Hopefully they have improved the food too!
Hello Don-
Thank you for your honest feedback on the Railroad. While I have never heard anything but positive reviews myself it is always good to have a well rounded picture of the experience.
Thank you for being a dedicated RRC fan and for the kind words about our food! We look forward to seeing you on your next trip!
